We have a pair of antique earrings in the form of a small basket full of little natural pearls mounted in 14K Gold. They are a lovely hand-crafted pieces of antique jewellery simbolizing abundance and prosperity. It was a typical marriage gift belonging to the Sicilian tradition. The groom gives it to the bride as a promise for a wealty family. The gold is twisted, embossed and ciseled. Hundreds of small pearls are carefully strung together. 14K gold (touchstone tested). Mid of the 19th century from Sicily. An old hallmark is on the hooks. They are in perfect condition.
