Description:

The Castellani famous family of goldsmiths of the 19th century in Rome needs no further introduction. They are an emblem of timeless perfection in the world of antique jewelry. Here we present a pair of Castellani antique gold and lapislazuli earrings in Etruscan style as a pair of amphoras with very fine filigree detailed work. A top quality lapislazuli is in the middle of the amphoras. Only Castellani House achived such quality in these little masterpieces in the 19th century. For these reason they received important awards at exibitions in London and Paris. This Castellani goldsmiths quality today it no longer exists. Under the two bases there is the famous Castellani maker's monogram (hallmark) of the two opposite C.  Circa 1860. From Rome for the Grand Tour tourists and European exibitions. They are in perfect condition. Literature : Castellani and Italian Archeological Jewelry, S. Weber Soros, S. Walker, BGC Yale, New Haven, 2004.
