Lava jewellery was a must souvenir among the Grand Tour Tourist of the 19th century in Italy. In different colours, always in classical subjects sometimes they achieved a masterpiece quality for the detailed hand-work engraving. We are presenting a nice pair of antique lava earrings of Top quality. On the top a full-round head of Flora ( the Godness of the spring ) with the head contoured by flowers and leaves like a tiara. Down is pending a little wine amphora as an hope for a good harvest of grapes to make wine. Very carefully carved and full of beautiful details. A typical Grand Tour souvenir from Naples. End of the 19th century. We bought from a private collection in Rome. 14K gold (touchstone tested). They are in perfect condition.
